Introduction Blog

Welcome to my inaugural blog post! Here, I aim to introduce you to a wealth of information that you can expect to find on this site. Becoming an architect has been my lifelong aspiration, a journey that began with my earliest fascination with Legos—a rite of passage for any aspiring architect, I believe. By the age of 10, it was already clear to me that architecture was to be my chosen profession, a departure from the more typical childhood dreams of being an astronaut, doctor, or princess.

For me, buildings have always been a form of art. In the same way that others appreciate painting, music, or fashion, I find artistic inspiration when gazing upon a well-designed structure. However, despite my early certainty about my career path, nothing could have prepared me for the twists and turns this profession would present.

Growing up, I had no architects in my immediate circle—neither among my parents nor close family or friends. Although my high school offered a few drafting classes, I entered this field with minimal guidance. Therefore, I've created this platform as a resource for individuals like myself—those who embark on the journey into architecture without a roadmap. While I don't claim to be an expert, I hope to share insights and experiences beneficial to young adults aspiring to join the architectural profession.

Throughout this blog, I'll delve into various aspects of the architectural journey: from navigating undergraduate life as an architecture student and understanding studio culture, to securing internships, exploring the post-college work landscape, considering graduate school, facing unemployment, and together, discovering the process and steps toward professional licensure.

So, whether you're a fellow architecture enthusiast, a prospective student, or someone curious about the intricacies of this field, join me as we take this journey together.
